Now a days in stead of looking for the fact we are digging trivialities here and there. We don’t need to consider over our fault and the reason. We are well known that there is no smoke without fire. If any unexpected incident or accident take place, definitely there is some reason behind it. But remorsefully I am to say that we don’t try to find out the reason, but instead of it, to hide our incompetence and ignorance we place it as superstition or fraud. I want to have your kind attention towards a single mythological legend appended here and there in different Religious books.

Why do we worship SHIVLING? Or why should one worship SHIVLING?
Very easily we say that the people in ancient days were illiterate and uneducated and some fraud persons addressing themselves as Punditas, were exploiting their prosperity and property. Otherwise why to worship a stone piece? By the way, if worshiping stone pieces is so benefice, why not to adore the HIMALAYA?
Before I clarify this enigma, I will wish to say you that I my self don’t believe in superstition. In my early days, I did not believe these things e.g. to wear a ring attached with some stone-gem, to adore trees, Shivling or any deity. After when I completed the post graduation in biochemistry as the first student in India from Banaras Hindu university (BHU), to quench my curiosity regarding these different mythological complications, I started to find out the fact of these things. Because Varanasi is known as the city of Lord Shiva, so there is trend to place a Shivling in every house. So first I concentrated my investigation to find out the genuine reason behind worshiping Shivling-simply a stone piece.
You will also be amazed all of the sudden to know the miraculous result.
Generally in chemistry a stone piece or a marble piece is CaCO3 (Calcium Carbonate). When any acid is added with stone piece, it releases CO2 (Carbon dioxide). Consider profoundly, a single liquid in form of acid, if added with a stone piece, releases Carbon Dioxide. What do you hope to be released from this stone piece, if added with several different types of liquids in the form of acid, alkaline and other chemicals? we know well that a Shivling is adored with Turmeric powder (Turmeric Acid), Curd (Tartaric acid), Honey (Carbo Pharisaic Acid), Ghee (Magnosynthoxidin) and several such other chemicals. Though the modern science is not sure about the matter released from this activity of adding these chemicals to a stone piece, but it is sure that something just like the Isotopes of either Hydrogen or helium or Oxygen is released. And what ever matter is released is highly inflammable but invisible sufficient to eradicate the portion under its influence.
Now we see the instruction in Rigveda (ऋग्वेद),
“ॐ अग्निमीडे पुरोहितस्य देवमृत्वीजम होतारं रत्न धातमम.”
Om ! we pay our regard with the essential natural items to the Fire released against, overwhelming the creation but privileging different movable and immovable properties in form of Gold and diamond followed by tranquility and peace paid homage deciding some particular place and direction.”
Yes, If a stone piece or a Shivling is added with some acids or alkalies, it will release some horrible and harmful gasses or rays severely injurious to the health. That’s why a picture full of water is placed upon the Shivling to dilute the radiation and the different rays and gasses released. And this water is disposed in a particular direction. Again we are not permitted to take a complete round (प्रदक्षिणा) ,of the Shivling. Otherwise the radio active elements of the disposed water will definitely damage our WBC and platelets causing sever leprosy.
That’s why river Ganges is supposed upon the head of Lord Shiva to cool down the poison in his glottis or in other words to dilute the Radiation.
Now there is a question. Why not to worship Himalaya then, instead of a small stone piece in form of Shivling?
Because
  1. One will need to manage an arm of the length of thousand kilometers to put the Pooja items on the top of the Mountain.
  2. One will need to manage several metric tones of Milk, Curd, Honey and water to add.
  3. By the way the above mentioned items are if managed , it will spread in different directions and places and the people in the connection of the released items will be harmed. A mass destruction can take place.
  4. Different natural calamities e.g. earth quake, cyclone, heavy flood, dangerous diseases and several other disadvantages are the out come of this mismanaged adding items to the mountains.

In this way we see the truth of Vedic Legends.

But very remorsefully I am compelled to say that Punditas including me myself also, has made all the Vedic policies as well as Pooja, Karmakaand, jyotish (Astrology) so much complicated and superstitious that it has been a matter beyond the reach of common people. And now this is the reason that the man even from the Hindu community is dreading to perform the religious activities. How may a man from other community be expected to follow the Vedas- the reality of the Human being?
Thank you
